Jiasi pursued a wide variety of opportunities in the Dual Degree. While at the Reims campus, she was on the Bureau des Arts (BDA) executive team and volunteered with Velours, a local arts organization.
During her time at Berkeley, Jiasi pursued research through the Undergraduate Research Apprentice Program (URAP) and the College of Natural Resources’s Sponsored Projects for Undergraduate Research (SPUR). Jiasi also worked as a research assistant in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management (ESPM) on a project investigating the varieties of climate governance.
“Getting involved in research at Berkeley enabled me to develop many useful skills that have benefited me in my professional life and graduate studies.”
Jiasi appreciated the unique academic experience of the Dual Degree Program, where she had the opportunity to explore two different disciplines. Employers were also impressed that she had the opportunity to study abroad not just for an exchange semester, but for a multi-year program.
“The multicultural dimension of the Dual Degree was also a uniquely enriching opportunity to engage with people from diverse backgrounds and to learn to work together in different settings.”
After graduating from the Dual Degree Program, Jiasi returned to Canada to where she is currently pursuing a joint JD/BCL degree at McGill University's Faculty of Law. There, she is working as an Editor for the McGill Law Journal, assisting with research on corporate liability for environmental damages, and exploring her academic interests at the intersection of art and law.
