Having grown up on multiple continents, the Berkeley Sciences Po Dual Degree Program was a perfect fit for Emma’s wanderlust.
“I grew up between France and California and when it came to choosing where to go to college, I didn't want to choose one culture or one country over the other. The Dual Degree allowed me not to choose and I'm very grateful for it.”
Studying at Sciences Po Reims gave Emma a solid foundation of social science knowledge and expanded her academic horizons. Sciences Po also incited Emma’s passion for health policy by introducing her to health inequality from a sociological, economic, and legal perspective.
In addition to gaining the quantitative and data analysis skills that her Economics major at Berkeley offered, Emma took advantage of research opportunities to work with professors in the School of Public Health.
Following her graduation from the Dual Degree, Emma completed a Master's in Public Policy, with a specialization in Health Policy, at the Sciences Po Paris School of Public Affairs. She has continued her work in the health field as a Strategy Manager at Owkin, a French-American company that uses artificial intelligence to find the right treatment for every patient.
“I’d always seen knowledge as an unmoving state: there it was, and it had to be learned. The Dual Degree allowed me to understand that it was constantly moving, interpreted, and shown through a certain light…And that I would constantly need to keep up!”
